Release date and platforms

Rockstar Games has confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026. At launch the game is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.

Rockstar has not announced a PC version. That matches how recent Grand Theft Auto games released, with PC editions arriving after the initial console launch.

The setting: Leonida and Vice City

GTA VI returns to Vice City, Rockstar's take on Miami, inside the fictional state of Leonida. It is the first mainline entry set in Vice City since the 2002 game of the same name.

The two official trailers show beaches and neon nightlife alongside swamps, the Keys and dense urban districts, pointing to a varied state rather than a single city.

Jason and Lucia

For the first time in the series, GTA VI has two playable protagonists: Jason and Lucia. Lucia is the franchise's first female lead.

The trailers frame the pair as partners whose story has drawn frequent comparisons to Bonnie and Clyde, though Rockstar has shared little about the wider plot.

What is still unconfirmed as of now

  • A PC release date or window
  • Plans for online multiplayer and the future of GTA Online
  • The full size of the map
