Why was GTA 6 delayed?
GTA 6 was delayed twice: from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026, then to the final date of November 19, 2026. Rockstar said the extra time was needed to finish the game with the level of polish it expects.

The short answer
Rockstar delayed Grand Theft Auto VI twice. The game was first announced for fall 2025, moved to May 26, 2026 in a May 2025 statement, and then moved again in late 2025 to November 19, 2026. Both times Rockstar cited the need to deliver the game at the quality players expect.
Is November 19, 2026 final?
Rockstar and parent company Take-Two have repeatedly stood behind the November 19, 2026 date, and pre-orders opened in June 2026 with that date attached. Pre-orders opening is historically the strongest signal a Rockstar date will hold.
